Getting harder & harder to scrap during the day with the good weather coming to us but remember that you’ve got just over a week to get the May Challenges done!

Don’t forget that you’ve got 2 more days to participate in the June 2013 Road Trip Starry Summer Night. You’ll need to post your preview & blog code in the June 2013 Road Trip thread by Saturday, May 25th at 12:00 PM. Your contributions must remain a freebie until the 15th of the month, after that you are welcome to expire your contribution, sell it, or leave it as a freebie on your blog. Please read through the Information Thread for general instructions & the June 2013 Road Trip thread for specific information on this month’s Road Trip.

Quick pages are a great way to get a layout done quickly & an easy way to get a lot of free quick pages is to participate in the monthly Quick Page Exchange. Each month a new kit is featured & we are challenged to create a quick page with it! Don’t know how to make a quick page? Head on over to the Designing 101 section for some tips & a free quick page action for PSE & PS.

This month the featured kit is Spring Cleaning by Nicole of Digi-designs by Nicole & it’s on sale for 40% off the whole month! Post your completed quick page in the May 2013 Quick Page Exchange thread & don’t forget to send your quick page to Nicole. Please note that you may only use the featured kit on your quick page to avoid copyright issues.

A great way to see how layouts can turn out so different from the same set of instructions is the Recipe Challenge. This month’s recipe comes from Raquel of Build A Memory is as follows: (a) 2 pictures; (b) at least 8 flowers (you can repeat); (c ) at least 3 leafs or greenery; (d) 1 BIG cluster; (e) 2 papers (no more, just 2). Remember that you need to include all the recipe elements; post your finished layout in the May 2013 Recipe Challenge thread & see how everyone else interpreted the recipe. On the left is Hands Off by Chicka using Tomgirl by B2N2 Scraps; on the right is Saddle Up by barbaraj using Happy Together by MDK Scraps.

For some wonderful inspiration head on over to the Stuff to Scrap Gallery & find a layout to scraplift. Then post both the layout you picked & your scraplift over in the May 2013 U-Pick Scraplift Challenge to complete the challenge. On the left is Face Painting by KatherineWoodin using Space Invaders by JMC Designs; on the right is Garden Owl by babyyaks using What a Hoot by B2N2 Scraps.

The Challenge of the Week runs until Saturday, May 25th & this week we are challenged to do a progressive scraplift. Post your layouts in this week’s COW thread by Saturday night to earn your points; remember that to earn the bonus points, you need to complete all the COW’s for the current month.

The Fine Print: You’ll earn points on almost all of the challenges & when you reach 500 points, you’ll receive a $5.00 gift card to the Stuff to Scrap store to purchase anything that catches your fancy. Points roll over from month to month & do not expire! Please remember that to earn any extra bonus points, you must state in your challenge post that you’ve used 90% or more current STS products or you will not earn the bonus points. There is no double dipping with challenges, i.e. you cannot use a layout made for a speed scrap for one of the monthly challenges or use one layout for two challenges. The only exception is a double page layout where each side is for a different challenge. The use of quick pages for challenge layouts are not allowed, all layouts must be made from scratch or with a template. You are welcome to make a post in the May 2013 Challenge Round-up thread to keep track of all the challenges & points you’ve earned. As always, any layouts featured in this post are linked to the gallery for easy love leaving.

Hey, when did it get to be May 16th? Crazy how fast time seems to flying by these days, remember there’s still lots of time to get the May Challenges done!

A great way to add something special to your layout is to use a quote or song. For the May 2013 Quote/Song Lyric Challenge, Andrea of Scraps by Andrea has challenged us to use to the song The Best Day by Taylor Swift. On the left is Fifteen by snowlady using Controlled Chaos by Designs by Snowlady; on the right is 5th BDay by gyurgyik using Let’s Party by Leaving a Legacy Designs.

Pinterest is such a great source of inspiration so why not have a challenge for it? In this month’s Found on Pinterest Challenge, Misty of Designs by Snowlady has chosen 3 images from her Pinterest account & your challenge is use one or all of the images as your inspiration. Head on over to the May 2013 Found on Pinterest Challenge to see what’s going to inspire you this month. On the left is Smooch by yabby using Templatopia 6 by Ponytails Designs & using Slow and Steady by Leaving a Legacy Designs; on the right is 1st birthday by babyyaks using Let’s Party by Leaving a Legacy Designs.

Templates are a great way to get layouts done quickly while still adding your own personal touches. This month, Jodi of JMC Designs has provided a template for everyone to work with; head on over to the May 2013 Template Challenge to pick up the template & get scrapping. On the left is Bonita by Raquel using Leap of Faith by Queen Bee Scraps; on the right is Pregnant by tracyladle using Mama Mine by Growing Pains Scrapped.

Each month you’ll be able to pick up a free mini kit from one of our designers in the Use It All Up Challenge This month you can snag the mini kit, Wonderland from The Scrappy Kat, Mommy Me Time Scrapper & Growing Pains Scrapped for free until the end of the month; the catch is that you need to use everything in the mini kit on your layout for the challenge! If you’d like to pick up the full Wonderland kit in the store, it’s on sale for 30% off for the whole month & you can also use anything from the full kit in your layout.
